The usual jewel of a Past Master in the United States is a pair of compasses extended to sixty degrees on the fourth part of a circle (some may call it a protractor), with a sun in the center. In most jurisdictions a square is also present.

The Quadrant is the arc that both the Square and Compasses rest upon. The Quadrant clearly marks the degree at which the Compasses are open at. That of an equilateral triangle. It’s precise measurement indicates that a Past Master is to ensure that Masons are making proper use of their working tools.

The Sun represents Light. It signifies that the Past master has sat before the Great Light in Masonry and observed the Sun while Rising, Meridian Height, and finally Setting in the East.

The presentation, metallic finish, and size of our Past Masters Jewel give you limitless opportunity to make use of it in many unique ways. Each piece is cast from Alumilite by hand, sanded, buffed, and finally a patina applied by hand.

Because of its lightweight, non metal construction, you may want to affix it to the door of your house or display it as a seasonal or Christmas tree ornament. Perhaps you wish to mount it to the cover of your holy book or hat box. Or even pass it to someone special in the future.

Dimensions are 4.25 in. X 4.75 in.

Each piece is made by hand with a hand applied patina. Variation and intensity of the patina should be expected.

Optional Magnetic Backing Notes: Rare earth neodymium magnets are strategically placed within the product at the time of casting. Occasionally magnets may be made visible at the time of sanding.
